Wait! IS THAT AN #EARTHQUAKE or…. ?
I jumped out of my chair and looked around nervously. Nope. Not an aftershock. I had just imagined it. It wasn’t the first time either.

…Is my leg falling asleep?
…Am I dehydrated?
…Am I just dizzy?
…Am I just imagining it?
…just the sound of a thud, crack or bump from somewhere in the neighborhood?
…Are the neighbors going at it… again?
…did someone in the nextdoor just slam the door?
…did my phone just vibrate? (just kiddng, there’s no power. the phone’s been dead all day.)
…did I just get a new match on Tinder?
…are you just happy to see me?
…did she text me back?
…are my cousins sending me more prayers in Hindi on Whatsapp. *block*
…is it a new SMS/Whatsapp with “NASA predicts another BIG earthquake in 18 minutes, unless you forward this to 3 people.”
…did someone fart loudly?
…did I just fart?
(again, seriously… why are the dogs barking? Is it an earthquake or… a thief/home intruder.)
…am I just hungry?
…am I just on edge?
(Yes, I’m sitting in Kathmandu at 10:55pm in candle light, and typing these notes. You know, I never truly appreciated a backlit keyboard as much as I do right now. Thanks Jonnie! Ha. Yes, we’re on an active fault line. I’ve been here for 24 hours, but I still grab every opportunity to laugh. The dumber the joke, the better!)
I started writing this because I really did jump up from my chair and look around to see if it was aftershock. But it was just my foot falling asleep. That one thought turned into this really dumb list within 10 minutes.
I’m smh’ing at the absurdity and buzzfeed-vibe this post has. I apologize for turning medium into buzzfeed. But, hey… I’m in Kathmandu without internet and electricity, cut me some slack.
I know you can get even more creative with answer to this question. Let me know with a tweet and link to this post too.
Wait. Is that an earthquake or ________?Cheers!
